Spring into Geocaching
Join us for this fun activity that all ages can enjoy.
Geocaching is a unique outdoor activity that can be described as a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.
Geocachers navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find a geocache (container) hidden at that location.
These geocaches are found in public spaces like parks, the bush and along walking tracks. People hide caches all over the world, and luckily for us, there are over 80,000 in Australia.
Geocaching Victoria will teach us the basic skills and then send us out into the surrounding area to try out our new skills.
As part of our challenge we will find a brand new cache located at The Royal Society of Victoria.
- The event will commence at Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre, 251 Faraday Street, Carlton
- The event will conclude at The Royal Society of Victoria, 8 La Trobe Street, Melbourne
