Date: Saturday 19th October

Time: 10:00 am - Noon

Join us for this fun activity that all ages can enjoy.

Geocaching is a unique outdoor activity that can be described as a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.
Geocachers navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find a geocache (container) hidden at that location.
These geocaches are found in public spaces like parks, the bush and along walking tracks. People hide caches all over the world, and luckily for us, there are over 80,000 in Australia.

Geocaching Victoria will teach us the basic skills and then send us out into the surrounding area to try out our new skills.

As part of our challenge we will find a brand new cache located at The Royal Society of Victoria

Tickets: $10.00 per person.

Children under 16 FREE but must be registered when booking and accompanied by an adult.

SAVE THE DATE

Finally, after 100 years, Victoria will have a geographical organisation once again.

IT'S TIME TO LAUNCH GEOGRAPHY VICTORIA!!

SUNDAY 10th NOVEMBER 2024

MELBOURNE TOWN HALL - 3:30pm

Geography Victoria is finally ready to be officially launched. We hope you will join us at the beautiful Melbourne Town Hall Supper Room on Sunday November 10 for afternoon tea to celebrate. It has been over 100 years since Victoria has had a Geographical Society. In 2018 the Australian Academy of Science called on all States to have a Geographical Society which precipitated the formation of Geography Victoria.  Anna-Maria Arabia from the Academy will open the launch. Tim Costello AO, a fervent supporter of Geography will be the guest speaker. Geography Victoria is an affiliate of The Royal Society of Victoria and RSV President Rob Gell AM will facilitate a discussion with a panel of Geographers from a diverse range of fields.

Your invitation will be sent to you shortly, we look forward to your support.
